What is it?
Insulated packaging is any packaging that keeps perishable or temperature-sensitive materials within a desired temperature range during shipping. In other words, insulated packaging keeps things cool / cold that are supposed to stay cool / cold, and keeps things warm / hot that are supposed to stay warm / hot. Insulated packaging is most often used to ship or transport the following types of products: Living Organisms and Specimens; Blood; Chemicals; Pizza, Ice Cream, Catered and Mail Order Foods; Water, Core, Crop and Soil Samples; Electronic Media; Berries and other Produce; Fish and other Seafood; Chocolate and other Gourmet Foods; Flowers and other Perishables. Common materials used to construct insulated packaging include EPS (Expanded Polystyrene) and Urethane Foams, Vacuum Cells, Aluminum, Polymer, and Corrugated Cardboard.
